Kent has been working at Perry-Lecompton for 10 years. He started as a varsity baseball coach in 2009 as well as a substitute. He also coached middle school boys and girls basketball. 

     He is currently the owner and operator of Travellers Inc and formerly a Maupintour travel service worker for Lawrence, Kansas. He now assists with visual learning classes for the high school.

     He has a wife named Lori and two sons named Coleman and Chase. In his free time he like to play golf.
